It may take a while to download these pictures; they are in the 25 to 45Kb range. Be patient, though, they are worth the wait.

There are a few such houses that are not whitewashed. Note the ubiquitous power meter, found outside of all Greek houses.

Windowshopping is always a pleasure, definitely  best at night, though.

There is a lot of nice stuff to buy and take home. Unfortunately, a lot of it is quite fragile so that more often than not you end up not buying.  In spite of this your luggage is invariably heavier on your trip back home than when you arrived - this never fails!

There is a great number of small, exciting, slightly up-market shops in the town of Skopelos.

Here is a close up of one of the town's many churches. This one distinguished itself by not being whitewashed. The stones that went into its construction are clearly visible, though. There were a number of 'plate like' structures cemented into the building, very different from most other churches on the island.

We'll wrap this up with a nocturnal view of the north-western part of the town. Making an excursion somewhere is, in our humble opinion, a near waste of time unless you stay to experience what the place is like after dark. The 'true face' of a place is only visible to you after you have experienced it for a full 24 hours.
