Skiathos is one of the most beautiful islands in Greece. Green and luxuriant pine and stone pine forest cover it with many olive trees in between. Skiathos also has at least 60 large and small fine beaches.

Koukounaries beach.

Actually, the beaches are definitely among the reasons for the large number of tourists coming to Skiathos. Starting longest away from Skiathos town, one will find several great beaches far southwest. On is the Koukounaries Beach. It counts as one of the greatest beaches in Greece, and indeed it is. The beach is long with golden fine grain sand, it is shaped as a perfect curve and behind the beach there are tall, beautiful verdigris stone pine trees. There is also another beautiful beach facing the mainland called Banana Beach, which is a naturist beach.

Achladíes.

If you drive the 13 km back to Skiathos town along the main road south on the island, you will see a lot of small beautiful beaches. One of them is Achladíes. There are also several fine accommodation alternatives here. Opposite, across the sea, there is also a beautiful beach that can be reached with boat from Skiathos Town. There are also many great beaches along the north side of the island, most of which can be reached by one of the many beach boats going from the town port. The best known of these is Lalária.

Here, north on the island are also the remains of what was once Skiathos' largest town, called Kastro.

Kastró.

Skiathos Town is the largest town in the Sporades. It is situated in the only natural port on the island and contains beautiful white houses with red roofs.
