Aqua Paros |
|
If you drive
past Kolymbrithres on the road to Monastery Beach, you'll find a big
aqua park named Aqua Paros on your right facing the sea. By Greek
standards it’s a big water park. Here you'll find many slides, for
both young and old, a channel with large swim rings on which you can
float on the channel and plenty of sun beds. The great thing about the
park is that they use sea water everywhere, no chlorine water
anywhere. All slides that are meant for swimmers end in the sea. The
slides for the youngest one end in a separate, shallow pool. There are
also plenty of guards everywhere, especially where the slides end in
the sea.

Here you can see a part of the park, amongst others the big channel which covers the whole park and the boat which is starting point for 2 of the bigger water slides. You can also see some of the sun beds one can use. The white city in the background is Naoussa. You don't need your own transportation to get to the park. From the harbour of Naoussa you can catch a boat directly to the park. From Parikia you can take Aqua Paros' own bus. You buy your ticket from one of the travel agents on the island at least a day in advance. Let them know you want transportation too, and you will be picked up by a bus at Pounda and returned to Pounda some hours later. This transportation is included in the entrance fee when you buy the ticket from one of the travel agents on Antiparos. There are 2 kinds of tickets to be bought. One that gives access to the park itself and its sun beds, and one that additionally gives access to all the slides. |

Here are 2 pictures from the double, and fastest, slide. Here you can see Inge and Bjorn competing about who will be first in the sea. This time Inge is in the lead. |

You can have a lot of fun in the smaller slides too. Aqua Paros is actually a part of the more exclusive 4 star hotel Porto Paros. At the hotel you'll find several tennis courts and swimming pools. This is the official web-site of Aqua Paros. |
