Taverna 5F (pénde fi) Antiparos, Cyclades Greece

Here are some pictures from Tavern 5F (pénde fi in Greek) and of the its very nice owner and his wife. Their names are Georgos and Chrisoula, surname Pantazi. Their daughter Marina also helps them. This is a typical family business, like most taverns of this size. The whole family helps.

As you can see, the tavern is centrally placed in the main street, opposite the post office.

Georgos is guaranteed the friendliest/happiest man on Antiparos. He always has a smile and a "HELLOOOO" for anyone who passes. Here you also get the guaranteed best "Gyros on plate" in Antiparos. You can choose Gyros made from either pork (the traditional) or chicken. You can also get all the other traditional Greek dishes like Greek salad, tzatsiki, which here is especially good, as well as Moussaká and souvláki and other tasty dishes. Proof that the food is good here lies in the fact that also many locals eat here. The taverns is open the whole season, but closes in the winter. It is open practically all night. At least it is open as long as I am awake, and that means from about 10.am to midnight. (As you understand, we sleep a lot in Greece, but then we are on holiday after all!) I think he has open to at least 03.00.am in the high season.

This is Georgos (the owner) and Chrisoula (the wife) in well known pose. To the left you can see the grill where the meat for the Gyros is cooked. A must!

I can't deny that we are frequent guests here. We always have to eat here the first evening we are on Antiparos. This is because we have been waiting a whole year to eat a proper Gyros again, but also of course to say hello to the whole family, who recognise us from one year to next.

The place is recommended for good, simple and reasonably priced food which also most children like, as well as for friendly owners who are guaranteed to remember you.

Marina, Georgos and Chrisoula youngest doughtier is now connected to Internet, as one of the first at Antiparos. Her email address is; marina5f@otenet.gr. Marina want mail friends from all over the world. And if you have visit this tavern send then some words!

After 12 years building Gergios is finished with his 2 new Studios, who he want to rent. Marina send me this words about them: "About the studio's. They are the same. I will describe you the one because the other as I said is exactly the same. It has three rooms. One room has a double - bed and a single bed, the second room has a kitchen and another single bed . And the third is the bathroom. It also has a big balcony. The different between the two studio's is that the first has a big balcony and the second has two small balconies."
